The Addis E. Hull Award was established in 1989 by the Board of Directors of the Institute and is given from time to time to practitioners and judges who have made especially valuable contributions to the Illinois bar through IICLE programs, publications, or governance over a period of years.
The award is named in honor and memory of Addis E. Hull, who chaired the Planning Committee for the IICLE® DRAFTING WILLS AND TRUST AGREEMENTS practice handbook and related courses for more than 20 years. He also assumed leadership roles in a wide range of IICLE programs and publications in estate planning, administration, divorce taxation, and income taxation.
Hull’s career-long scholarship, generosity in sharing his knowledge and experience with others, and consistent friendliness and good humor exemplify the best in Illinois continuing legal education leadership.
James M. Lestikow, a Partner at Harrison LLP, is the 2024 Recipient of the IICLE Addis Hull Award for Excellence in Continuing Legal Education. This award recognizes Lestikow’s unique distinction of not only having contributed to IICLE as an author, speaker, board member, and board chair, but also as a member of the staff over the course of his five-decade career.
